Eschbach, an innovative city
The Eschbach municipality in Alsace has decided to create a dialogue and to listen to its community through a first citizen consultation.
Adapted to the request of the city council, the multiple preference voting was about the choice of the name of two new streets:
The vote gathered 310 participants i.e 36.6% of registered voters, against a participation of 287 voters i.e 33.4% of registered voters in the second round of the regional elections which took place in a “traditional” way, without the Civicpower application: this increase in the participation rate, even if it remains modest, strengthens the idea that we are progressing in the right direction.
For two votes whose importance and stakes are not comparable, the one that proposed a modern ballot, in the form of a fully electronic and secure vote, has generated more interest than a political ballot organized by public authorities.
This approach of citizen consultation via digital vote is certainly a step forward towards the democracy of tomorrow, the return of national dialogue and citizen empowerment.

C’est dans une démarche de dialogue et d’écoute que la municipalité d’Eschbach en Alsace a décidé d’animer la vie de la commune au travers d’une première consultation citoyenne.
Adapté à la demande de la municipalité cliente, le vote à préférence multiple portait sur le choix du nom de deux nouvelles rues nouvellement créées :
Le vote a rassemblé 310 participants soit 36,6% des inscrits, contre une participation de 287 votants soit 33,4% des inscrits aux second tour des élections régionales qui s’est déroulé de manière “traditionnelle”, sans l’application Civicpower : cette amélioration de la participation, même si elle reste modeste, nous conforte dans l’idée que nous avançons dans la bonne direction.
Pour deux votes dont les enjeux et la portée sont pourtant sans commune mesure, celui qui proposait un scrutin moderne, sous la forme d’un vote entièrement électronique et sécurisé a suscité plus d’intérêt qu’un scrutin politique organisé par les pouvoirs publics.
Cette démarche de concertation citoyenne grâce à un vote numérique est assurément un pas de plus vers la démocratie de demain, le retour du dialogue national et l’empowerement citoyen.
